What else should I do to improve my skills? There are many opportunities for volunteer work and this is a worthwhile way to get to know a park and develop experience. Parks Victoria has several programs for volunteers including the Campground Host Program and the Dandenong Ranges Volunteer Program. Further information on these programs is available under Working Together. Alternatively, joining a local friends group provides great opportunities for park experience. What other organisations have similar work? Local Councils, Department of Sustainability & Environment, private environmental agencies, Greening Australia, Coast Action and interstate park agencies all conduct some similar environmental programs and ranger type work. Recruitment Programs Parks Victoria conducts a number of recruitment programs including an Indigenous Program, the Summer Ranger Program, as well as general recruitment. These programs occur throughout the year as suitable vacancies arise and will always be advertised on this website under 'vacancies'.
