Help monitor our marine protected areas
28 Jan 2009

The People and Parks Foundation, Parks Victoria and ExxonMobil are building strong links with local communities and providing them with an opportunity to get involved in managing Victoria’s Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) through a citizen science program called Sea Search.

Community groups and volunteers learn skills such as how to identify marine life and are able to collect important data on marine biodiversity and seasonal changes over time in their local MPAs.

You don't have to be a scientist to be involved, any member of the public can become a Sea Search volunteer and it doesn't take a lot of time to make a real difference! Monitoring sessions are seasonal and only take two to three hours to complete.

For further information on becoming involved, please visit www.seasearch.org.au or contact the People and Parks Foundation on 03 8627 4615
