ex-HMAS Canberra Dive Site Opening Soon

The ex-HMAS Canberra was scheduled to be scuttled, or sunk, near Ocean Grove to create an artificial reef and dive site on 12 September 2009. However, unfavourable weather conditions have resulted in the scuttle date being postponed and a new scuttling date has not yet been confirmed. The ex-HMAS Canberra dive site won't be accessible and open to divers immediately after it is scuttled. This is so works and inspections can be completed which may take a few weeks depending on weather conditions. The State Government will advise of the official opening date via media outlets and here on Parkweb.
