Fox control – The Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve
Parks Victoria is committed to protecting and enhancing the natural values of parks and reserves across the state. Examples of this conservation management are the control of introduced plant and animal species which can impact on these values.
As part of an integrated ongoing fox control program to protect the Southern Brown Bandicoot, Parks Victoria will be conducting soft jaw trapping and den fumigation. Soft jaw traps will be laid at strategic sites through The Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve from Tuesday 27 October 2009 until Wednesday 23 December 2009.
Fox control signs will be displayed at all entrance points to the reserve and members of the public are advised to take particular care ensuring animals are restrained at all times whilst within the reserve.
Operational details may be obtained from Georgia Kerr by calling Parks Victoria on 13 1963.
