Parks Victoria advises ...
Redevelopment of former Queenscliff Fishermen’s Co-operative site

Parks Victoria intends to shortly invite Expressions of Interest to redevelop the building formerly known as Queenscliff Fishermen’s Co-operative at 4 Wharf Street, Queenscliff Vic 3225.

The Co-operative, built in the 1940s after the formation of the Victorian Fishermen’s League, was one of the earliest fishing co-operatives established in Victoria.

Parks Victoria wishes to ensure that the building will continue to be used as a fishermen’s co-operative or, that it will have a similar marine or maritime based use. Interested developers will also need to investigate other parameters of development that may apply to the building, including those imposed by the Queenscliffe Planning Scheme and Heritage Victoria.

A ‘drop in’ community information evening will be held at the Queenscliffe Town Hall on Thursday 26 November 2009 during 5pm - 7pm.

Information on the proposed redevelopment is available on www.parkweb.vic.gov.au.
