Errinundra National Park offers tranquil walks and scenic drives. It preserves the largest remaining stand of cool temperate rainforest in Victoria as well as ancient tall, wet eucalypt forests. The majority of the park is accessible only in the drier months. In winter, rain and snow generally make the unsealed roads impassable.

Things to Do
- Take a self-guided walk through the heart of the rainforest at Errinundra Saddle.
- Enjoy a scenic drive which closely follows the route taken by the explorer Walter Baldwin Spencer.
- Enjoy superb views from Mount Morris, Ellery View and Ocean View Lookout.
- Admire ancient forests of plum pine and the granite tors of Goonmirk Rocks.
- Explore a range of walking tracks for a closer view of the forest giants.

Facilities
- The information board at Errinundra Saddle has displays and information about the park.
- There are picnic areas at Errinundra Saddle and Tea-tree Flat with tables and toilets. Other picnic areas at Bonang River, Mount Morris, Hensleighs Creek, Ellery Camp have picnic tables.
- Camping is permitted at Frosty Hollow within the park and at Delegate River, Goongerah and Ada River close to the park boundary.
- Dispersed camping is permitted in some areas. Please contact Parks Victoria for further information.
- Nearest place for petrol and supplies is Bonang or Delegate in the north or Orbost, Cabbage Tree or Cann River in the south.

Heritage
This area was declared a national park in July 1988. It has a diverse cultural history. The plateau was linked to ancestral trails and meeting places for local Aboriginal tribes. European history is evident from derelict mine shafts, old fence lines and machinery associated with early grazing leases, gold mining and timber harvesting.
Errinundra Plateau is the source of seven rivers flowing both south and north, providing water for many of the region's communities before flowing into Bass Strait or becoming part of the Snowy River system. Aboriginal Traditional Owners
Parks Victoria acknowledges the Aboriginal Traditional Owners of Victoria - including its parks and reserves. Through their cultural traditions, the Bidawal and Nindi-Ngudjam Ngarigu Monero identify the Errinundra National Park as their Traditional Country.

Fauna
Mature trees provide hollows for the greater glider and yellow-bellied glider as well as the boobook and powerful owl. The forests provide habitat for some animals considered rare, endangered or vulnerable including the long-footed potoroo, sooty owl and Jervis Bay tree frog.

Vegetation
The park includes Victoria's largest stand of cool temperate rainforest, dominated by southern sassafras and black oliveberry. The plateau's tall wet eucalypt forests of shining gum and cut-tail include some giant specimens many hundreds of years old. These species occur in some areas over an understorey of rainforest, forming a mixed forest which is rare in mainland Australia. The park's diverse array of vegetation types includes 15 ecological vegetation classes, supporting more than 600 plant species. One of those is the mountain plum pine which occurs in tree form and is unique to the Errinundra Plateau.

Looking After the Park
- Take your rubbish with you.
- Dogs and other pets are not permitted in park.
- Firearms are not permitted in the park.
- Keep to existing walking tracks, especially in the rainforest which is very sensitive to disturbance.
- Vehicles may be driven or ridden only on roads open to the public. Drivers or riders must be fully licensed and vehicles (including trailbikes) must be fully road registered.
- Use a portable camping stove where possible. Remember that no fires, including gas stoves, may be lit on days of Total Fire Ban.

Precautions
- Never leave a fire unattended and make certain it is completely extinguished before you leave. Put the fire out with water, not soil.
- Road conditions can deteriorate very quickly at any time of the year. Access is severely restricted during the wetter months and snow may fall in winter.
- Some roads are seasonally closed to prevent erosion and for safety reasons. Please contact Parks Victoria for up-to-date information on road closures before visiting the area.
- Logging trucks use the roads and tracks in the area. Keep well to the left and drive with great care.

How to Get There
The park is located about 90 km north-east of Orbost. The two main approaches are: - from the south along Princes Highway to Combienbar Road (54 km east of Orbost). Drive through Club Terrace to Errinundra Road.
- from the west along the Bonang Highway, Gap Road and either Gunmark Road or Errinundra Road.
