Marine Conservation
[Conservation Home]

In 2002, a representative system of 13 Marine National Parks and 11 Marine Sanctuaries were established to protect the diversity of Victoria's marine environments.

As manager of this system Parks Victoria has set about protecting natural and cultural values, engaging the community, providing for recreation and tourism and researching and monitoring these newly protected areas.

Park management plans are being progressively developed to guide management of each park.
