Climate Change
[Conservation Home]

Climate change is now a generally accepted consequence of worldwide industrialisation and development over the last century. Trends of increasing daytime temperatures and warmer ocean waters are two climatic factors connected to increased levels of human-made gases in the Earth's atmosphere. A number of potential impacts of global warming on parks include changes in vegetation and fauna habitats and fire and water regimes.

Parks Victoria is involved in research to improve understanding of the impact of climate change on vulnerable parks and park values.
