Surf's up 365 days a year in Victoria. The Mornington Peninsula National Park sees some swell rolling in from the Southern Ocean. Novices, professionals and everyone in between will find a break to suit their skill level here. Autumn receives the biggest swell while in summer the waves are smaller - ideal for the hoards of holiday makers who head for the coast and give surfing a try at one of the many beach side surf schools. Some of the best spots for the more competent surfer include Point Leo, Portsea, Sorrento and Gunnamatta. Victoria has an abundance of lakes, reservoirs, bays and rivers ideal for keen swimmers and windsurfing. If swimming in the ocean is your thing then why not head to some of these breath-taking beaches: Stretching from Cape Paterson in the east to the beaches of Croajingolong National Park in the west are some of the finest beaches, surfing and swimming areas in Australia. In the warmer months you can find surf lifesavers patrolling popular ocean beaches like Cape Paterson, Inverloch, Venus Bay, Sandy Point, Norman Bay, Seaspray, Woodside and Lakes Entrance. Stunning beaches in Wilsons Promontory National Park include Norman Bay, Squeaky Beach, Picnic Bay Beach and Whisky Bay. In Cape Conran Coastal Park check out Pearl Point Cape, East Cape and West Cape.
