The magnificent Italianate-style mansion at Werribee Park, built between 1874 and 1877, is testament to the status and success of prominent pastoralist brothers Thomas and Andrew Chirnside.

Exquisitely restored to its former glory, the mansion is now open daily to the public. Elaborate rooms including the ground floor reception rooms, bedrooms, billiard room and kitchen wing provide a rare glimpse into the grandiose lifestyle of a bygone era. The opulent taste of the Chirnside family is highlighted with an impressive selection of original decor, particularly the crystal chandeliers, giant gilt-framed mirrors and patterned Minton tiled flooring in the entrance area and upstairs balcony.

Surrounded by 10 hectares of majestic formal gardens, the internationally recognised Victoria State Rose Garden, contemporary sculpture walk, tranquil Werribee River and original farmyard, the entire property is the perfect location for a full day out with family and friends.
