The preparation of the draft plans has been based on the Victorian Environmental Assessment Council's earlier public consultation.
Parks Victoria and the Department of Sustainability and Environment sought community input to shape and influence the final plans.
Throughout April Parks Victoria conducted three Open House events in Apollo Bay, Gellibrand and Anglesea. These were designed for people to 'drop in' and participate in a variety of ways. For those who were unable to attend the Open House events - Parks Victoria offered an opportunityto get involved online and contribute comments and ideas via an eForum.
Written submissions to the plans closed on 2 June 2008.
The Otway Landscape Community Council was appointed by the Minister in October 2007 and has been working in partnership with Parks Victoria and the Department of Sustainability and Environment to develop the community engagement program.
