 The Wilderness Retreat Experience
Parks Victoria's Wilderness Retreats offer you the opportunity to immerse yourself in nature. Stay in elevated, luxury, safari-style tents, which are low impact and touch the earth lightly.
You'll find Wilderness Retreats in three beautiful locations, Buchan Caves, Cape Conran and Wilsons Promontory. Located at in a tranquil area of the campgrounds, Wilderness Retreats combine the “close to nature” experience of bush camping, with the comforts you would expect from modern huts or cabins.
Enjoy nature with all the creature comforts
 Wilderness Retreats are set up for couples but can comfortably sleep up to four people. Each contains a queen size bed, two bedside tables, a blanket box, towel rail, a table and chairs, a single futon chair that converts to a single bed, a single trundle bed and a small fridge.
They are completely weatherproof and include a covered hardwood timber deck and a lockable canvas door.
The well equipped communal kitchen (also a tent) includes stainless steel bench tops, a gas hotplate, a fridge, microwave, toaster and tea and coffee-making facilities. All linen and towels are provided, as is crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. All you'll need to bring is food and personal items.
Cape Conran and Buchan Caves
- Five accommodation tents.
- Fully equipped communal kitchen for the exclusive use of Wilderness Retreat guests.
- Shared toilet and shower facilities for the use of Wilderness Retreat guests, located close to the tents.
- $140/night (double), with a minimum two night stay. ($17 extra per night per additional person - max. 2 extra people).

Wilsons Promontory
Available from Easter 2008
- Four accommodation tents at Tidal River on 32nd Avenue.
- Integrated private en suites (shower, vanity basin and toilet).
- Fully equipped communal kitchen for the exclusive use of Wilderness Retreat guests.
- A short walk to the Tidal River store.
- $240/night (double), with a minimum two night stay. ($20 extra per night per additional person - max. 2 extra people).

Parks Victoria Wilderness Retreats sit on an innovative modular galvanised steel frame which does not require concrete footings, and care has been taken with the fit out of the tent to ensure your stay has minimal environmental impact and complements the park environment.
