2007 Romp and Stomp
Ranger Roo, Parks Victoria's new Junior Ranger Program mascot, visited Melbourne Museum for "Romp and Stomp" on Universal Children's Day in October. Romp n Stomp offers children aged 0-5 a range of fun and educational activites that help children to learn through experiences, stimulate senses and arouse curiosity. Activities in "Ranger Roo’s Park Wonderland" involved familiarising young children to nature parks and native wildlife. Storytelling workshops based on the Junior Ranger Way helped children to learn in context and make connections with messages about safety, planning a park visit and best behaviour when visiting National Parks.Ranger Roo and the "Build your own Park" drawing activities were very popular with the 5000+ visitors at the event.
